Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a qualified Management Accountant within OEGEN Funds Finance. You will ensure high-quality management accounts for a growing portfolio of renewable assets, coordinating with external accounting teams and internal stakeholders across the UK and international allocations.

The role requires ACA/ACCA, strong UK GAAP knowledge, and consolidation experience, with a knack for process improvements and strict controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
• Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Able to complete and review consolidations.
• Knowledge of investment entity accounting is beneficial.
• Experience with renewable energy investment assets and subsidy schemes preferable.
• Good understanding of CIR and other basis tax rules would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and challenge management accounts provided by external accountants.
• Report on the financial performance of the operational portfolios at monthly Investor meetings.
• Ensure financial information and commentary is accurately presented in Investor Reports.
• Deal with finance related queries on portfolios and provide timely solutions.
• Collaborate with asset managers to prepare budgets and monitor costs against budgets.
• Assist the fund management team in quarterly valuations.
• Assist onboarding of new investments into OEGEN’s finance and reporting processes.
• Assist with audit of underlying assets and with financial due diligence queries from asset sales.
• Project manage audits and review of statutory financial statements with external auditors.
• Manage payment approvals and maintain a robust control environment across the portfolio.
