Job summary

Drax Group is hiring a Management Accountant (Opex & Capex) on a fixed-term contract to 31 March 2028, with hybrid working and flexible location across Selby, Ipswich, Glasgow or Northampton.

You will support the delivery of accurate financial transactions and reporting, including journals, accruals and prepayments, while maintaining robust financial controls. You’ll work with Finance Directors, FP&A and budget holders to provide reliable financial information for decision making.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with journals, accruals, prepayments and cost coding in a finance function.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems; Planful desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals accurately and on time in line with policies and controls.
• Manage accruals and prepayments as part of the monthly accounts process.
• Review and sign off Business Approval Forms to support governance requirements.
• Ensure costs are coded to correct cost centres and projects.
• Support the production of management accounts through reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary.
