Job summary

Drax Group is seeking an accounting professional to deliver accurate financial transactions and robust controls within a fast-paced finance team. This FTC role supports the monthly management accounting cycle and timely reporting.

The FTC runs until 31 March 2028 with hybrid working (2-3 days per week in a local office) and flexible locations across Selby, Ipswich, Glasgow and Northampton. You will collaborate with FP&A, the Group Financial Controller and budget holders.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with journals, accruals, prepayments and cost coding in a finance function.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems; Planful desirable.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals accurately and on time per financial policies.
• Manage accruals and prepayments as part of monthly accounts process.
• Review Business Approval Forms to support governance requirements.
• Code costs to correct cost centres and projects.
• Support management accounts through reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary.
