Job summary

Meraki Talent is supporting a market-leading client in Scotland to appoint a Management Accountant on an initial 12-month contract. You will deliver monthly management accounts, provide commercial insights, and partner with budget holders to drive performance.

You will prepare management reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to process improvements within a high-performing finance function. Hybrid working with some office days is available.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong experience in financial analysis and management accounting.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial information to budget holders and non-finance stakeholders.
• Proven ability to meet challenging month-end deadlines.
• Proactive with attention to detail and commercial focus.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly management reporting pack with clear financial insights for decision making.
• Support Head of Finance in annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist during the external audit and support finance colleagues.
• Act as a finance business partner to budget holders with sound financial guidance.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations ensuring accuracy of information.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Meraki Accountancy & Finance's market-leading client is looking to appoint a Management Accountant on an initial 12-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to make a real impact within a high-performing finance function. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders and budget holders, providing valuable financial insight and commercial guidance while playing a key role in management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The role also offers the opportunity to drive meaningful process improvements and shape how finance supports the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts to challenging deadlines, including detailed commentary and analysis of variances.
• Prepare the monthly management reporting pack, providing clear financial insights to support business decision-making.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance throughout the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Support finance colleagues during the annual external audit.
• Act as a finance business partner to budget holders, providing sound financial advice, guidance and challenge.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and add value to the wider finance function.

Experience & Qualifications:

• ICAS, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant.
• Strong experience in financial analysis and management accounting.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain financial information clearly to budget holders and non-finance stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively to challenging month-end deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and commercially focused approach.
• Experience of identifying and implementing process improvements would be advantageous.
