Qualifications

• Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant required.
• Experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Proficient in month-end processes, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Strong Excel skills and financial reporting abilities.
• Experience in stock-led environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger operations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Contribute to month-end close and financial reporting.
• Support stock control processes and stock reconciliations.
• Identify and implement finance process improvements.
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller on strategic and operational finance activities.

Hours : Monday to Friday : 8:00 am - 5:30pm
Salary:Up to £60,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing and well-established business based in Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting business growth while gaining broad exposure across the finance function.

This position is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to develop their skills, take on increased responsibility and become a trusted member of a close-knit finance team. The role offers genuine opportunities for career progression within a stable and expanding organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger functions
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process
• Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Contribute to month-end close activities and financial reporting
• Support stock control processes and perform stock reconciliations
• Identify and implement finance process improvements
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives
• Work closely with the Financial Controller to support strategic and operational finance activities

Skills & Experience Required

• Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes
• Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Sage accounting software experience is essential
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and financial reporting
• Ability to analyse financial data and provide meaningful business insights
• Experience within a stock-led or inventory-based environment would be advantageous
• Highly organised, proactive and capable of working independently
• Strong communication skills and a desire to develop within a growing business
