KPI Recruiting is hiring a Management Accountant in Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage day-to-day ledgers, assist with monthly management accounts, and drive budgeting and forecasting processes.

The role requires a fully qualified CIMA/ACCA with strong month-end accounting experience and Sage/Excel proficiency. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential for contributing to financial insights and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support stock control processes and stock reconciliations
• Identify and implement finance process improvements

Management Accountant

Location: Stoke‑on‑Trent

Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing and well‑established business based in Stoke‑on‑Trent. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting business growth while gaining broad exposure across the finance function.

This position is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to develop their skills, take on increased responsibility and become a trusted member of a close‑knit finance team. The role offers genuine opportunities for career progression within a stable and expanding organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger functions
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process
• Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Contribute to month‑end close activities and financial reporting
• Support stock control processes and perform stock reconciliations
• Identify and implement finance process improvements
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives
• Work closely with the Financial Controller to support strategic and operational finance activities

Skills & Experience Required

• Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of month‑end accounting processes
• Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Sage accounting software experience is essential
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and financial reporting
• Ability to analyse financial data and provide meaningful business insights
• Experience within a stock‑led or inventory‑based environment would be advantageous
• Highly organised, proactive and capable of working independently
• Strong communication skills and a desire to develop within a growing business
