Job summary

Pertemps Stoke on Trent is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team in Stoke-on-Trent. The role reports to the Financial Controller and offers exposure across management reporting, forecasting and stock accounting.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or CIMA qualified with solid month-end experience, strong Excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and Sage proficiency. This is a hands-on, senior-support position in a growing logistics business.

Qualifications

• ACCA or CIMA qualification required.
• Experience in a Management Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of management accounts prep and month-end.
• Experience preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Sage experience essential.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial reporting).
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger functions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Support budgeting and forecasting.
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Produce balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
• Support stock control processes and stock reconciliations.
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiencies.
• Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting and projects.

The Role

As Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for supporting the production of accurate financial information, assisting with strategic decision-making, and ensuring the smooth running of the company's finance operations.

Working within a small, collaborative finance team, you'll have involvement in everything from management reporting and forecasting to process improvements and stock accounting.

Key Responsibilities
