Job summary

Wade Macdonald is representing a well‑established SME in the UK manufacturing sector for a Management Accountant in Slough. The role covers ownership of the UK management accounts process, financial reporting, inventory analysis and supporting key business decisions.

It is a broad, hands-on position designed to develop your career within manufacturing. You will join a collaborative finance team in a hybrid pattern (3 days in the office, 2 from home), with 25 days’ annual leave, a 10.5% employer

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting or similar finance role.
• UK manufacturing sector experience preferred.
• Part-qualified or qualified by experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and support month-end close.
• Produce financial reports to aid performance and decision-making.
• Manage prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse inventory and stock movements with regular reporting.
• Review cost of sales and identify variances/trends.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide financial insights.
• Assist with process improvements in finance.

About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a growing finance team, taking ownership of the UK management accounts process. This is a broad and hands‑on role with responsibility for financial reporting, inventory analysis and supporting key business decisions, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a manufacturing environment.

Duties will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting month‑end and year‑end close.
• Producing financial reports to aid business performance and decision‑making.
• Managing prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analysing inventory and stock movements, providing regular reporting.
• Reviewing cost of sales and identifying trends or variances.
• Working closely with colleagues across the business to provide financial support and insight.
• Assisting with continuous improvements to finance processes and reporting.
• Using the organisation's ERP system to maintain accurate financial records.

About the Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. You will be part‑qualified or qualified by experience, with strong reporting skills, confidence working across teams and a proactive approach to learning. Experience with ERP systems would be advantageous.
