Job summary

Agility is seeking an experienced Management Accountant in Lancaster to own month-end reporting, collaborate with production teams, and drive financial improvements. The role is hybrid, offering hands-on ownership of journals and weekly/monthly P&L management in a manufacturing context.

The successful candidate will be experienced in management accounting, with progression towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA, and proficient in Excel and ERP/accounting software.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting, financial reporting and analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with accounting/ERP software.
• Ability to work with operational teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the month-end close and associated journals.
• Prepare and manage weekly and monthly profit and loss statements.
• Manage the sales ledger, invoice queries, credit control and intercompany billing.
• Oversee inventory reconciliations and review stock-count results.
• Analyse financial performance and recommend process improvements.
• Partner with production teams to identify cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Develop labour standards for new production items and review existing bills of materials.
• Support strategic financial planning and wider business-improvement projects.

The role:

About you:

• Experienced in management accounting, financial reporting and analysis
• Ideally studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA
• Manufacturing accounting experience would be a strong advantage
• Commercially aware, analytical and confident working with operational teams
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting or ERP systems
• Organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of deadlines
• Knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, PAYE and tax compliance
