Job summary

Marc Daniels in Blackburn is seeking a Management Accountant to own monthly management accounts, financial reporting and commentary, with duties across budgeting and forecasting. You will partner with non-finance teams to explain financial information and ensure accuracy. This role offers hybrid working with two days from home.

The candidate should be part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong Excel skills, and experience in a finance environment.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, or QBE.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports with variance analysis and commentary.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Partner with non-finance stakeholders to explain financial information.
• Produce financial reports for senior management.
• Manage month-end journals (A/R and A/P) and related tasks.
• Support VAT returns and external audits.

Management Accountant

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports, variance analysis, and commentary in line with agreed deadlines. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Management Accounts efficiently
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Business partner with non-finance stakeholders
• Prepare financial reports for senior management
• Manage month-end journals (Account Receivables and accounts payable).
• Support VAT returns and external audits

Skills & Competencies

Experience Required

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent), or QBE (Qualified By Experience)
• Demonstrable experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within management accounting.
• Solid understanding of management accounts, balance sheets, and financial controls.
