Job summary

Cherry Professional Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Management Accountant for a Nottinghamshire-based role with hybrid working. The person will partner with operations and project teams to drive performance, balancing financial reporting with hands-on cost control.

The role covers inventory management, WIP reporting, standard costing, project profitability and forecasting, delivering meaningful insights for decisions and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or strong qualified-by-experience background.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or project-led environments.
• Knowledge of stock accounting, inventory management and stock valuation.
• Experience in the management and reporting of Work in Progress (WIP).
• Skilled in standard costing, manufacturing costing and variance analysis.
• Experience in project accounting, contract accounting or project profitability analysis.
• Forecasting, budgeting and cost-control experience.
• ERP systems proficiency and advanced Excel ability.
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills across finance, operations and projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts with supporting commentary.
• Own inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and valuations.

Manufacturing Management Accountant Nottinghamshire Up to 65,000 + Benefits + Hybrid Working

A growing and successful manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Management Accountant to join its finance team in a key role supporting both operational and project performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being embedded within the business, partnering with operational and project teams to drive performance and provide meaningful financial insight. Beyond the production of accurate financial reporting, you'll play an important role in monitoring manufacturing costs, managing inventory and WIP, and supporting the financial performance of projects from inception through to completion.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, responsibilities will include:

• Production of monthly management accounts and supporting commentary


• Ownership of inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and stock valuation processes


• Monitoring and reporting of Work in Progress (WIP) across manufacturing and project activities


• Review and maintenance of standard costing methodologies and manufacturing cost models


• Analysis of material, labour and overhead variances


• Financial monitoring of project costs, budgets and profitability


• Supporting project managers with forecasting, cost control and financial reporting


• Evaluating project performance against budgets and commercial objectives


• Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flow information


• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of strong financial controls


• Identifying opportunities to improve financial and operational reporting processes


• Providing financial insight and analysis to support strategic business decisions

About You

We are keen to speak with finance professionals who are:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or possess a strong qualified-by-experience background


• Experienced within a manufacturing, engineering or project-led environment


• Knowledgeable in stock accounting, inventory management and stock valuation


• Experienced in the management and reporting of Work in Progress (WIP)


• Skilled in standard costing, manufacturing costing and variance analysis


• Able to demonstrate experience within project accounting, contract accounting or project profitability analysis


• Comfortable monitoring project performance, challenging costs and supporting forecasts


• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel


• Confident building relationships with stakeholders across finance, operations and project teams


• Commercially focused, proactive and solutions-oriented
