Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a Management Accountant to deliver accurate monthly management accounts and financial analysis for a newly acquired entity with circa £30 million turnover. The role focuses on forecasting, budgeting, and process improvements within a fast-growing private equity-backed services provider.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, with strong management accounting experience and a continuous improvement mindset, working closely with operational and commercial

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Lead month-end close activities for designated business areas.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial records.
• Analyse monthly financial performance against budget and forecast with commentary on variances and drivers.
• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles.
• Monitor KPIs and identify trends to support decision-making.

You will also play a key role in developing financial forecasts and budgets and improving processes.

Description

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
• Lead month-end close activities for designated business areas
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records
• Analyse monthly financial performance against budget and forecast, and provide detailed commentary and insights into key variances and business drivers
• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles
• Monitor financial performance against targets and proactively identify risks and opportunities
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends
