SF Recruitment is partnering with a Peterborough-based PE-backed business to hire a Management Accountant. The role focuses on ownership of month-end reporting, detailed variance analysis and providing meaningful financial insight across multiple UK entities.

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified or near qualification, with strong Excel skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to financial controls and commercial analysis.

Formación

• Qualified accounting designation or close to qualification and able to take ownership of reporting.

Responsabilidades

SF Recruitment are working with an established PE Backed business in Peterborough to recruit a Management Accountant into their finance team. This is a great opportunity for a strong Management Accountant, either fully qualified or approaching qualification, who enjoys taking ownership of month-end reporting, getting into the detail behind the numbers and providing meaningful financial insight. Working across multiple UK entities, you'll play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting the wider business with commercial analysis and decision-making.

The Role

• Preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple UK entities, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
• Taking ownership of the month-end process, ensuring accurate reconciliations and strong financial controls.
• Managing intercompany reconciliations across the group.
• Reviewing overheads, investigating variances and identifying areas for improvement.
• Preparing bank reconciliations across group and client accounts.
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
• Supporting the Financial Controller with year-end reporting and external audits.
• Reviewing AP and AR activity, providing support to the wider finance team where required.
• Analysing product margins and providing insight into financial performance.
• Supporting improvements to financial processes, reporting and systems.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident with the numbers, enjoys getting stuck into the detail and can take ownership of their responsibilities.

Ideally, you'll have:

• ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification, or be at the final stages of your studies.
• Previous experience producing monthly management accounts and managing month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
• A good understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Strong attention to detail alongside a proactive, organised approach.
• The confidence to communicate financial information clearly and work with stakeholders across the business.
