Job summary

Gillespie Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction organisation seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

You will work closely with senior leadership and the Finance Controller to deliver monthly management accounts, meaningful analysis and initiatives that drive performance. This permanent, full-time role offers a collaborative environment and clear career progression in a growing business.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA/ACA or CIMA accountant
• Experience in management accounting role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with financial systems
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Strong communication with stakeholders at all levels

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Provide meaningful financial analysis and commentary to support decisions
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Undertake reconciliations, internal controls and audits
• Assist with external audits and respond to queries
• Collaborate with business leaders to drive insights and improvements
• Improve financial systems and reporting processes
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets and highlight variances
• Mentor junior finance staff
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
• Maintain accurate financial records and compliance

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation within the construction sector for an experienced Management Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts
• Provide meaningful financial analysis and commentary to support business decisions
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management processes
• Undertake financial administration, reconciliations and internal audits
• Assist with external audits and respond to audit queries
• Work closely with managers across the business to provide financial insight and support
• Develop and improve financial systems, controls and reporting processes
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets and highlight variances
• Support and mentor junior members of the finance team
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Maintain accurate financial records and compliance with company procedures

About You

• Part-qualified or qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA accountant
• Previous experience within a Management Accountant role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
• Construction industry experience would be highly advantageous
• Proactive, organised and committed to continuous improvement
