CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with an established, multi-site organisation in Christchurch to recruit a commercially focused Management Accountant. This high-profile role blends business partnering, technical accounting, group reporting and project work.

You will support complex operating sites, strengthen financial insight and improve reporting quality. Working with the Group Financial Controller, you will lead budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting, analyse revenue and costs,

Qualifications

• Qualified or qualified-by-experience finance professional with strong technical and commercial background.
• Experience in management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting in a complex organisation.
• Advanced Excel with ability to analyse large data sets and produce meaningful reporting.
• Clear communication skills with the ability to partner with senior operational stakeholders.
• Experience in multi-site environments would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operating sites for budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting.
• Analyse revenue, costs and profitability to highlight risks and opportunities.
• Develop management reporting and analysis to improve decision-making.
• Lead finance projects covering systems, reporting processes and improvements.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and capex reporting, monitor spend vs budgets.
• Coordinate year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
• Oversee tax compliance activities.
• Support cash management, treasury, cash forecasting and banking controls.
• Identify financial risks and implement controls.

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with an established, multi-site organisation in Christchurch to recruit a commercially focused Management Accountant. This is a high-profile role within the finance function, offering a blend of business partnering, technical accounting, group reporting and project work.
Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will support complex operating sites, strengthen financial insight and help improve the quality of reporting across the organisation. It would suit a proactive accountant who enjoys getting beneath the numbers, working with operational stakeholders and taking ownership of varied, business-critical activities.

What will the Management Accountant role involve?

• Partner with larger and more complex operating sites, taking responsibility for their budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting
• Analyse revenue, costs and profitability, highlighting emerging risks and commercial opportunities
• Develop management reporting and analysis, using reporting tools and systems to improve the quality of decision-making
• Lead finance projects covering systems, reporting processes and operational improvements
• Manage fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure reporting, monitoring spend against agreed budgets
• Coordinate the year-end audit and act as a key contact for external auditors
• Oversee tax compliance activities
• Support daily cash management, treasury activity, cash forecasting, banking controls and loan accounting
• Identify financial and operational risks, introduce appropriate controls and monitor their effectiveness

Suitable Candidate for the Management Accountant vacancy:

• A qualified accountant, or an experienced qualified-by-experience finance professional, with a strong technical and commercial background
• Demonstrable experience of management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting within a complex organisation
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the confidence to analyse substantial data sets and produce meaningful reporting
• Clear and credible communication skills, with the confidence to partner with senior operational stakeholders
• Previous experience within multi-site environment would be advantageous
