Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable Shopping Centre Cleaner to join the housekeeping team at FORGE Shopping Centre in Glasgow. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across a busy shopping centre environment, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for customers and tenants.

Key responsibilities include cleaning public areas, assisting with washrooms, and responding to spillages. Flexible hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy public environment.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shopping centre.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas including malls, corridors, entrances, toilets, lifts, escalators, stairwells, and staff areas.
• Sweep, mop, polish, and disinfect surfaces as required.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to spillages and cleaning emergencies to maintain safety standards.
• Replenish consumables in washrooms.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Work as part of a team to keep the centre clean during busy periods.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shopping centre.

• Maintain cleanliness of public areas including malls,corridors,entrances, toilets, lifts, escalators, stairwells, and staff areas.

• Sweep, mop, polish, and disinfect surfaces asrequired.

• Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels in washroom facilities.

• Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and correctly.

• Always follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.

• Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to supervisors.

• Work as part of a team to ensure the shopping centreremainsclean, presentable, and operational during busy trading periods.

• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public.
