Job summary

Transforming Support Coulsdon is seeking a Support Worker for the Coulsdon site. The role offers £14.00 per hour with days or nights available, on a permanent contract.

You will work a two-week rolling shift pattern with 39 paid hours on days or 37 on nights, and have access to a discretionary bonus up to £1,000 and 28 days of annual leave including bank holidays. Male Support Worker

Salary: £14.00 per hour Location: Chipstead Court, Coulsdon, CR5 3QW

Shifts: Days or nights available

Hours: 39 paid hours per week on days or 37 paid hours per week on nights Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Two week rolling rota. Days 7:15am to 9:15pm. Nights 9:15pm to 7:15am.

Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a rewarding role where you can help people live with greater independence, choice and confidence?

Transforming Support Coulsdon is looking for Support Workers to join the team at Chipstead Court, providing person centred support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

This is a practical, people focused role where you will build trusted relationships, support everyday living and help each person achieve what matters to them.

Transforming Support provides person centred supported living and outreach services for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs across the UK.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide consistent, person centred support that promotes dignity, independence, choice and involvement in the local community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting individuals with everyday living and maintaining their independence
  • Helping people make choices about their daily routines, activities and lifestyle
  • Supporting access to the local community, appointments, education, employment and social activities
  • Providing support with health needs and medication in line with agreed procedures
  • Helping individuals manage their tenancy, finances and household responsibilities where required
  • Building positive relationships with the people you support, their families and other professionals
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive risk taking
  • Maintaining accurate support records and completing required documentation
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety and risk management procedures
  • Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent, high quality support

You will be part of a supportive team focused on delivering safe, respectful and reliable support while helping each individual retain as much control over their own life as possible.

About You

You will have at least 6 months' previous care or support experience and a genuine commitment to person centred support.

You will be reliable, respectful and confident supporting adults with a range of individual and complex needs. Being a driver would be advantageous, although it is not essential.

You will ideally bring:

  • At least 6 months' previous care or support experience
  • A genuine commitment to promoting independence, dignity and choice
  • A reliable and responsible approach to work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Confidence supporting people with a range of individual and complex needs
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and follow agreed support plans
  • Flexibility to work the required two week rolling shift pattern
  • A calm, respectful and person centred approach
  • Good awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in supported living, learning disabilities or complex needs would be particularly useful.
