Job summary

Blue Ribbon in Burnley is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help individuals with Autism and Learning Disabilities live fulfilling lives. This role covers full-time, part-time, and bank hours, paying £13.14 per hour, and focuses on person-centred care, daily living tasks, and safeguarding.

You will work closely with families and professionals to promote independence. You will be supported with training, development opportunities, and a collaborative team culture that values every person.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of chosen activities and support personal choices and preferences.
• Maintain person-centred care plans to meet individual needs.
• Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Accurately complete daily care documentation, records, charts, and incident reports.
• Administer and record medication safely and accurately.
• Support meal preparation, domestic tasks, and general household duties.
• Provide psychological, emotional, and physical support to service users.
• Help access the community, attend appointments, and encourage social interaction.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

• Accurately complete key daily documentation, including care records, fluid and nutrition charts, and incident reports.

• Support individuals with meal preparation, domestic duties, and general household tasks.
• Provide psychological, emotional, and physical support to service users.
• Enable access to the community, support with appointments, and encourage meaningful social interactions.
• Identify and report any concerns, ensuring a safe and safeguarding-compliant environment.
• Maintain positive relationships with family members, friends, and external professionals.
• Encourage and support independent living skills where possible.
• Keep up to date with all required training to ensure best practices.
