Job summary

Senovo Resourcing Ltd is seeking a dedicated Makaton Communication Support Assistant for a SEN school in Greenwich. You will support pupils to take part in lessons, routines and social activities using Makaton and total-communication approaches.

The role is temporary with PAYE pay of £110–£145 per day. You will model functional communication, adapt resources with guidance from teachers, and record progress for the wider team, supporting safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Practical Makaton experience in supporting children with communication needs.
• Calm, responsive style in interacting with pupils.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and professional boundaries.
• QTS not required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Use Makaton, symbols and visual timetables across the school day.
• Model functional communication during lessons, play and routines.
• Adapt resources with guidance from teachers and SLTs.
• Record progress and share observations with the team.
