Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a SEN Classroom Assistant to support learners in an SEN school in Newham, East London. The role is full-time and starts in September, with a strong potential to become permanent.

You will assist with communication and curriculum support, and help with personal care tasks as needed. DBS disclosure is required, with enhanced clearance preferred. Experience with Visuals, Makaton, PECS or Phonics is preferred. A supportive team and training are provided.

Qualifications

SEN Classroom Assistant – Remedy Education is looking for a classroom assistant to provide support within an SEN school. The students range from mild to severe, including non‑verbal and communication‑challenged learners who need extra support for the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for students with a range of SEN needs.
• Assist with communication and curriculum support as required.
• Support personal care activities such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.

Qualifications

• Experience with Visuals, Makaton, PECS, or Phonics preferred.
• Comfortable with personal care duties.
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS certificate.
