Job summary

Senovo Resourcing Ltd in Newham is seeking a Teaching Assistant to help pupils use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) across lessons and routines. The role is temporary with PAYE pay of £105–£135 per day, and eligibility to work in the UK is required, along with safeguarding checks.

The successful candidate will support pupils to use AAC, prepare communication aids, model clear communication, and observe engagement and progress while promoting independence in a respectful setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting communication needs in education, care or therapy settings.
• Familiarity with AAC or willingness to develop skills.
• Reliable teamwork, safeguarding awareness, and professional boundaries.
• QTS is not required for classroom support.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to use AAC systems across the school day.
• Prepare symbols, communication boards and accessible resources.
• Model clear communication strategies under supervision.
• Record observations on engagement and progress.
• Promote independence with patient, respectful support.
