Job summary

Compassion in World Farming International is seeking a Philanthropy Manager (Major Donors) to cultivate and secure substantial gifts from high-net-worth individuals across the UK and Europe.

The role is based in Godalming with a hybrid pattern (two days in the office) and involves building lasting donor relationships, writing compelling proposals, and meeting ambitious income targets in support of Compassion's animal welfare mission.

Qualifications

• Experience fundraising from high-net-worth individuals and soliciting £10,000+ gifts.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to build long-term donor partnerships.
• Clear, impactful writing and the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Strategic mindset with ability to turn plans into actions.
• Ability to work to targets, manage budgets, and maintain attention to detail.
• Independent and collaborative; strong motivator and enthusiastic about Compassion's mission.
• GDPR awareness and familiarity with fundraising ethics; Salesforce experience; event fundraising advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting donor relationships and steward a heterogeneous donor portfolio.
• Identify, cultivate and solicit high-net-worth individuals and family foundations.
• Develop engagement opportunities to secure major and multi-year gifts.
• Write funding proposals, cases for support, and impact reports.
• Work toward income targets using KPIs and forecasting.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy, Prospect Research, Programs and Finance; maintain Salesforce records.
