Job summary
Tata Steel is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to carry out MIG and/or ARC welding and fabrication at the Steelpark site near Wolverhampton. You will support maintenance with repairs and planned work, working to high welding standards on complex drawings.
The role requires a time-served apprenticeship and relevant qualifications, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. Day shifts, immediate start subject to a medical.
Qualifications
- Time-served welder fabricator with apprenticeship and relevant fabrication/welding qualification.
- Proficient with MIG and ARC welding and metal fabrication processes.
- Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings and diagnosing issues.
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge and IT literacy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Execute fabrication and welding repairs for breakdown recovery and planned maintenance.
- Maintain highest welding standards at all times.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings to produce precise fabrication works.
- Diagnose equipment issues and implement preventative solutions.
- Prioritise fabrication workloads to meet operational demands.
- Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Document maintenance activities and material requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and apprentices.
