Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for a major global manufacturer in Blaenau Gwent. This weekend role runs Friday to Sunday, 7am–7pm, offering a starting salary of £35,000–£45,000 plus pension and more.

You will handle breakdowns, preventive maintenance, fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems, with PLCs Siemens S5/S7, hydraulics and pneumatics. Four-year indentured apprenticeship preferred; City & Guilds or ONC are a bonus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Technician / Engineering role
• Must have undertaken a 4 year indentured apprenticeship
• City & Guilds or ONC in mechanical or electrical engineering would be a bonus
• Manufacturing environment experience

Responsibilities

• Breakdowns, proactive maintenance, preventative maintenance, improvements
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Kit: hydraulics, pneumatics, injection mould machinery, panels, inverters, motors, switchgears
• PLCs - Siemens S5 and S7
• Understanding of legionella checks, fire alarm system checks, permits to work, risk assessments
