Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd is partnering with an expanding manufacturing business in Ebbw Vale to recruit a Maintenance Technician. The role focuses on planned maintenance, breakdown rectification, and involvement in improvement projects within a four-day week.

You will join a capable engineering team, supporting production and driving maintenance excellence through training and mentoring from the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have a time-served apprenticeship and formal electrical qualification.
• Experience with instrumentation systems (thermocouples, level control, loop control).
• Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems.
• Competent in using a lathe and MIG welder.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to production operations across issues.
• Carry out shift-to-shift activities prioritising production needs.
• Work with the multi-skilled engineering team to improve maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns.
• Involvement in projects, plant improvements and equipment manufacture.
• Execute planned preventive maintenance activities.
• Provide site support for building, facility maintenance and security.

Salary: GBP45000 - GBP51500 per annum

Maintenance Technician

This is a great opportunity to join the engineering team of an established manufacturing business in Ebbw Vale. Hunter Selection are working with an expanding business looking for a Maintenance Technician. This role will see you involved in engineering processes such as planned maintenance, rectifying breakdowns and involvement in improvement and installation projects. This role will enable you to develop your own career through training courses and support from the Engineering manager, as well as a four day week.

Role & Responsibilities:

• To provide support to production operations in all issues.
• Carry out shift to shift activities by prioritising productions needs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Engage as a member of the multi-skilled Engineering team, working with the team to continuously improve the maintenance function.
• Diagnosis and resolution of equipment breakdown issues.
• Involvement in projects, plant improvement and equipment manufacture.
• Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance activities.
• To provide site support for the building and facility maintenance and security

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Timed served apprentice
• Multi skilled, formal electrical qualification with demonstratable mechanical experience
• Instrumentation systems (Thermocouples, level control, loop control)
• Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems
• Competent in the use of a lathe, MIG welder and other workshop equipment
