Job summary

CompassRock is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Southampton to support the Maintenance Manager and Senior Property Manager. You will handle service requests, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure health and safety compliance across our Market Quarter and Vantage Tower portfolio.

This is a hands-on, on-site position with a focus on resident satisfaction throughout the tenancy lifecycle. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in maintenance/FM, a clean driving licence, and the willingness to

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in a maintenance/FM role.
• Clean driving licence.
• Willingness to undertake industry-recognised qualification (company costs covered).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook; aptitude for learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage maintenance requests, prioritising urgent issues and resolving them in a timely fashion.
• Work with builders to pass defects to them and oversee works.
• Ensure quality and quantity of market-ready apartments.
• Carry out regular community inspections and tours to maintain appearance.
• Assist with health & safety matters and tenancy-related issues, including risk assessments and safety equipment checks.
• Help with parcel management, move-ins/outs, and general maintenance tasks as required.
