Job description

Maintenance Technician Plumbing

We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Technician specializing in Plumbing. This role is based at Stroud Health Centre, Block C.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The role is mobile, covering Gloucestershire and Bristol.

The starting salary is from GBP 38,000 (dependent on experience) plus an on-call allowance.

Requirements for the role:
  1. Qualifications:
    • BTEC City & Guilds with relevant experience and training
    • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing Engineering or equivalent
    • Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent
  2. Additional Requirements:
    • Driving license is essential
    • Comfortable using technological devices to log jobs
    • On-call availability
    • Industry experience is desirable
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines

Please note, DBS Checks and DVLA checks will be required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure compliance with NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, technical guidance, statutory regulations, and relevant codes of practice.
  2. Implement new or revised policies within your work areas.
  3. Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services, ensuring operational standards are maintained.
  4. Perform fault finding, minor repairs, installations, and maintain services within critical environments.
  5. Work across disciplines as required.
  6. Assess problems and determine the best course of action, communicating technical information effectively to stakeholders.
  7. Maintain accurate site log books at NHS premises.
