Job summary

Aqumen Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on a permanent nights shift in West Yorkshire. The role covers electrical and mechanical fault finding, PLC diagnostics, and working across legacy and automated machinery to improve reliability and safety.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, interpret schematics, and document activity in the CMMS. Requires a time-served apprenticeship and at least two years in manufacturing with strong team communication.

Qualifications

• Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent (ONC/City & Guilds Level 3).
• At least two years’ maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault finding with PLC diagnostic experience.
• Experience with root cause analysis and improving equipment reliability.
• Able to interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and repair production machinery, identifying the cause of failures.
• Respond safely to breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• Interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Carry out PLC fault finding and support reliability improvements.
• Record maintenance activity accurately using the CMMS system.
• Follow safe isolation procedures and maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with production to minimise downtime.

Maintenance Technician

Enjoy getting to the root cause of machinery faults? Aqumen Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established international manufacturing business looking to strengthen its night shift engineering team.

We welcome engineers with either an electrical or mechanical bias.You will work across a varied range of production equipment, from established legacy machinery to modern automated systems, helping improve reliability and keep production running safely.

The role
