Job summary

Apex Appoint is recruiting for an established manufacturer in the Burnley area. You will join an experienced engineering team to maintain and improve a range of modern production machinery. The role offers a permanent position with about £44,000 and overtime at time and a half.

It features a 35-hour week with rotating days and afternoons, no night shifts, and benefits including a pension and life insurance. You will read drawings, diagnose faults and contribute to equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 electrical or electrical/electronic engineering qualification.
• Alternatively, a completed engineering apprenticeship with strong electrical experience.
• Maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding ability.
• Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery.
• A practical and proactive approach to solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
• Complete planned and preventative maintenance.
• Fault-find PLC-controlled production machinery.
• Maintain motors, drives, sensors, conveyors and control systems.
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Support equipment installations and improvements.
• Help reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

What we’re looking for
