Job summary

Aqumen Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established international manufacturing business for a Maintenance Technician on nights. West Yorkshire-based role focusing on keeping production running safely across legacy and modern systems.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, and use PLC diagnostics to improve equipment reliability. On-site role with strong safety emphasis and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
• ONC, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in manufacturing environment with maintenance duties.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
• PLC fault finding experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and repair production machinery, identifying the cause of failures.
• Respond safely to breakdowns and carry out planned preventive maintenance.
• Interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Carry out PLC fault finding and support equipment reliability improvements.
• Record maintenance activity accurately using the CMMS system.
• Follow safe isolation procedures and maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping.

We welcome engineers with either an electrical or mechanical bias. You will work across a varied range of production equipment, from established legacy machinery to modern automated systems, helping improve reliability and keep production running safely.

Summary

Maintenance Technician

Permanent nights | West Yorkshire | £44,000 plus excellent benefits

The role

• Diagnose faults and repair production machinery, identifying the cause of failures.

• At least two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience of root cause analysis and improving equipment reliability.
• A methodical approach, good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team.

Salary and benefits
