Job summary

New Resource Group in Bridgwater, Somerset, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a skilled manufacturing team. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery and diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a strong practical maintenance background in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault-finding is essential.
• Familiarity with reading electrical and mechanical drawings is preferred.
• Experience with planned preventive and reactive maintenance is required.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and electromechanical faults.
• Fault-find using electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Maintain motors, drives, sensors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Support machinery installation, modifications and improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work with Production and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
• Follow health & safety procedures.

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Salary: Up to £42,000

Hours: Alternating shifts – Mon-Thurs 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm; Fri 6am-1pm / 1pm-8pm

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join an established manufacturing organisation in Bridgwater.

You will work as part of a skilled maintenance team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown repairs and fault-finding across a range of manufacturing equipment.

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong practical maintenance background within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

You should have experience in:

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
• Reading electrical and mechanical drawings.

Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent are advantageous.
