Job summary

Vita Student is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Operative responsible for keeping premium student accommodation safe, welcoming and running smoothly. You will respond to maintenance requests, perform scheduled preventative work, and carry out repairs across plumbing, electrical, and building fabric while ensuring safety standards are met.

The role covers indoor and outdoor tasks, including routine inspections, flooring replacements, painting, and ground works.

Qualifications

Experienced delivering preventive and corrective fire alarm and firefighting system maintenance.
Skilled across a variety of maintenance functions.
Well‑versed in delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) within a similar environment.
Demonstrable understanding and adherence of safety compliance regulations and procedures.
IT literate and able to work with maintenance tech systems.

Responsibilities

Respond to maintenance requests, promptly addressing reports of issues with plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, furniture, and other equipment.
Conduct regular inspections of residence facilities to identify potential issues and performing scheduled maintenance tasks.
General repairs, such as fixing minor issues like leaky plumbing, broken fixtures, damaged doors, and wall repairs.
Performing minor tasks like replacing flooring, repairing furniture, and touch‑up painting & decorating.
Ground works, maintaining the upkeep of outdoor areas such as grass-cutting and hedge-trimming.
