Job summary

Vita Group is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative in Edinburgh to maintain Vita Student’s premium residences. You will handle a broad range of maintenance tasks, ensure safety and high standards, and support a welcoming resident experience.

Role requires experience with PPM, fire safety systems, and hands-on repairs across building disciplines. Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm, permanent full-time position with a 42.5-hour week in Edinburgh.

Qualifications

• Experienced in maintaining safe, compliant, well-presented buildings.
• Strong understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Experience with fire safety systems and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
• Carry out routine building inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
• Undertake general repairs, including plumbing, fixtures, doors and minor building fabric repairs.
• Complete basic flooring, furniture, painting and decorating repairs.
• Maintain external grounds, including grass cutting, hedge trimming and general upkeep.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and compliance requirements.
