Job summary

NHS Property Services is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join our Property & Facilities team across the South Coast, primarily based in Bognor Regis. You will deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable electrical systems for our NHS estate.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works on electrical systems and assets.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime and disruption.
  • Complete electrical testing, inspection, and compliance activities in line with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken safely and in accordance with current regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and contractors.
  • Participate in operational activities to ensure buildings remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and motivated Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join our Property & Facilities team. About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician (Electrical), you will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs across a diverse property portfolio. You'll ensure that all electrical systems and assets remain safe, compliant, and operational, helping us deliver outstanding facilities services to our customers.

The role will primarily cover Bognor Regis and the surrounding areas including locations such as Worthing, Shoreham and Newhaven. Working as part of a wider maintenance team, you will provide a customer-focused service, responding effectively to maintenance issues while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and NHS Property Services standards.

You are a qualified electrician with a strong maintenance background and a commitment to delivering high standards of service. You enjoy working independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, contractors, and customers. You are proactive, organised, and take ownership of your work, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Bring
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Inspection and Testing qualifications.
  • Experience within facilities management, healthcare, commercial, or public sector environments.
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience.
Where You'll Be

This role is field based across the South Coast region, primarily covering the Bognor Regis area and surrounding locations such as New haven, Shoreham & Worthing. The position is full-time, permanent, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
