Job summary

YASA is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide mechanical and electrical support on a hi-tech automated assembly line. The role operates on a rotating two-shift pattern, with Week 1 on Early shift (6am-2:30pm, Mon-Thu; Fri 6am-12:30pm) and Week 2 on Late shift (2:30pm-11pm, Mon-Thu; Fri 12:30pm-7pm).

The candidate will repair faults, support production targets, and drive preventative maintenance. Key requirements include a 17th Edition electrical qualification, experience in manufacturing,

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS

Key responsibilities will include:

• Repairing faults as the first port of call for machine breakdowns
• Providing technical support to achieve production output standards
• Plan and execute pro-active preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime
• Work from mechanical, schematics drawings to assist with fault finding
• Advise on technical issues, liaising with engineers and the production team as well as supporting continuous improvement activities

Skills and experience required:

• Qualified to 17th Edition level or equivalent, with a good knowledge of fault finding and repair in electrical and mechanical
• Proven previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience with PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as robotics
• IT literate and able to navigate systems easily
• Organised and self‑motivated with a safety awareness of electrical, compressed air and pressurised systems
• A flexible approach to work and the desire to thrive in a dynamic and exciting fast‑moving environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Self‑motivated with the determination to succeed
• UK driving license and be available to support visits to supplier sites.
• Previous experience in an automotive environment
• Experience of working within IATF16949 quality system environment
