Job summary

YASA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair faults on production machines and provide technical support to uphold output standards. The role involves proactive maintenance planning, fault finding from schematics, and ongoing liaison with engineers and the production team to drive continuous improvement and monitor machine performance.

You will need 17th Edition electrical knowledge, PLCs and robotics experience, and a flexible approach to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to 17th Edition, with fault finding and repair in electrical and mechanical.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
  • IT literate with ability to navigate systems.
  • Safety awareness of electrical, compressed air and pressurised systems.
  • Flexible to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Repair faults as the first port of call for machine breakdowns.
  • Provide technical support to achieve production output standards.
  • Plan and execute proactive preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
  • Work from mechanical, schematics drawings to assist with fault finding.
  • Advise on technical issues, liaising with engineers and production teams; support CI activities.
  • Monitor machine performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

Qualifications

  • Proven previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as robotics
  • IT literate and able to navigate systems easily
  • Organised and self-motivated with a safety awareness of electrical, compressed air and pressurised systems
  • A flexible approach to work and the desire to thrive in a dynamic and exciting fast-moving environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the determination to succeed
  • UK driving license and be available to support visits to supplier sites.
