Job summary

PE Global International is recruiting for two Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians (Electrical Bias) at the Aycliffe site on a 6-month contract. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of high-speed manufacturing equipment with a strong electrical bias.

You will handle planned, preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and work with operators and engineers to minimise downtime while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance or mechatronics.
• Experience maintaining production or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Electrical bias preferred and strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve production equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Perform planned, preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Respond quickly and safely to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout and machine guarding standards.
• Identify equipment risks and opportunities for reliability improvement.
• Support root cause analysis of recurring equipment issues.
• Collaborate with production operators, engineers and supervisors to maintain safe operations.
• Maintain housekeeping in maintenance areas and around equipment.
• Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality and uptime.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias

PE Global is currently recruiting for 2 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians on behalf of a leading global manufacturing organisation, based at their Aycliffe site.

We are looking for experienced maintenance professionals, ideally with a strong electrical bias who can support the safe and efficient operation of high-speed manufacturing equipment.

Position Details

• Location: Aycliffe
• Contract: 6 months
• Start Date: ASAP
• Hours: 38 hours per week
• Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation - 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
• Pay Rate: £24.65 per hour, including 3-shift premium
• Base Rate: £20.73 per hour
• Shift Premium: £3.92 per hour
• Overtime 1.5x: £35.02 per hour
• Overtime 2x: £45.38 per hour
• Safety Footwear: Required

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve production equipment within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Perform planned, preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.

• Work closely with production operators, engineers and supervisors to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards within maintenance areas and around production equipment.
• Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, uptime and overall equipment performance.

Skills & Experience Required

• NVQ Level 3, ONC, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, mechatronics or a related field.
• Experience maintaining production, packaging, converting, assembly or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Electrical bias preferred.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout and safe systems of work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or automation-related issues in a fast-paced production environment.
