Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician – Electrical Bias
PE Global is currently recruiting for 2 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians on behalf of a leading global manufacturing organisation, based at their Aycliffe site.
We are looking for experienced maintenance professionals, ideally with a strong electrical bias who can support the safe and efficient operation of high-speed manufacturing equipment.
Position Details
- Location: Aycliffe
- Contract: 6 months
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: 38 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation – 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am
- Pay Rate: £24.65 per hour, including 3-shift premium
- Base Rate: £20.73 per hour
- Shift Premium: £3.92 per hour
- Overtime 1.5x: £35.02 per hour
- Overtime 2x: £45.38 per hour
- Safety Footwear: Required
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve production equipment within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Perform planned, preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
- Respond quickly and safely to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, machine guarding standards and site maintenance practices.
- Identify equipment risks, unsafe conditions and opportunities for reliability improvement.
- Support root cause analysis of recurring equipment issues.
- Work closely with production operators, engineers and supervisors to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within maintenance areas and around production equipment.
- Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, uptime and overall equipment performance.
Skills & Experience Required
- NVQ Level 3, ONC, apprenticeship or equivalent experiencein mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, mechatronics or a related field.
- Experience maintaining production, packaging, converting, assembly or automated manufacturing equipment.
- Electrical bias preferred.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, includinglockout/tagout and safe systems of work.
- Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.
- Strong equipment troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolvemechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or automation-related issues in a fast-paced production environment.
