Auto Skills UK in Derby is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a busy workshop. You will service, repair, and maintain a varied rental vehicle fleet to ensure safety and reliability. The role is Monday to Friday with no weekend shifts and includes a £1,500 joining bonus.

You will perform inspections, record work, and participate in structured training aimed at progressing toward Master Technician level. A strong focus on fault-finding and detail is essential.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
Experience with HGVs or LCVs.
Full UK driving licence.
Class 2 licence beneficial.
Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
Good attention to detail.
Proactive and reliable; able to work in a workshop team.

Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Inspect and test vehicle systems and components.
Identify worn or defective parts and complete repairs.
Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime.
Test drive vehicles where permitted and hold the appropriate licence.
Accurately recording completed work on workshop systems.
Complete job paperwork and maintenance records.
Ensure vehicles are left in a safe and roadworthy condition.
Maintain a clean, safe and professional workshop.

Salary: £34,000-£37,500 per annum, depending on experience

The Role

NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
Previous experience working with HGVs or LCVs
A full UK driving licence

Strong attention to detail
A proactive and reliable approach
The ability to work effectively within a workshop team
Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician within a fleet, rental or commercial vehicle environment would be advantageous.
