Overtime Pay: Monday - Saturday, x1.5; Sundays and bank holidays, x2

Role Overview

The Maintenance Team Leader will provide engineering support and maintenance services to ensure equipment is maintained effectively, and breakdowns are repaired efficiently and safely. You will attend to equipment breakdowns, undertake PPM schedules, and work closely with the engineering and production teams to prioritize maintenance activities.

Working Hours

42 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a 3-shift rotation: days (5:30AM-2:30PM), nights (10:00PM-6:00AM), and afters (1:30PM-10:30PM). Friday hours vary slightly: earlies (6:00AM-12:00PM), nights (6:00PM-4:00AM), afters (12:00PM-6:00PM).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily maintenance team activities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Review and prioritize work orders via SAP and direct contact with manufacturing areas.
  • Distribute workload and provide feedback on work orders.
  • Develop and improve preventative maintenance systems using data analysis.
  • Participate in plant shutdowns for maintenance and assist with shutdown works.
  • Lead and develop team skills through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage departmental budget and assist with annual planning.
  • Identify training needs for maintenance engineers and ensure spares availability.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Meet site KPIs such as H&S, production TME, and Continuous Improvement (CI 8D).
  • Maintain regulatory, legal, and corporate standards compliance.
  • Apply lean principles to add value, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
  • Liaise with central engineering, EHSQ, and other functions.
  • Conduct 1-2-1 meetings with engineers for performance and development.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Mechanical or electrical maintenance background (City & Guilds).
  • Management or supervisory qualification (CMS/DMS or equivalent).
  • Experience with CMMS, ideally SAP PM module.
  • Experience in contractor control systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
