Winners in the Third Sector category at the Cornwall Business Awards and one of the fastest growing landlords in the country, we are proud to be a key provider of housing and support in Cornwall. If we have advertised for a full-time position but your preference is to work part-time or flexibly, please do give us a call so we can discuss these options with you. While some roles do require a full-time postholder, wherever we can accommodate a flexible way of working we will do so for the right candidate. It is more important to us that we have the right people in our organisation, rather than just people who can work full-time.
We have an exciting and new opportunity within our Property Investment and Compliance team for a Maintenance Surveyor. Working across a multidisciplinary team, the Maintenance Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring that all works are costed and resourced accurately and delivered effectively with consistently high levels of customer satisfaction. The post holder will also be responsible for providing accurate breakdowns of costs, sourcing and specifying high quality products and providing extensive technical support across the team. High quality technical advice/actions will be provided to colleagues on the repair and maintenance of homes and non-residential assets.
You will have: previous experience in the delivery and continuous improvement of responsive repairs; sound knowledge of building construction, including diagnosis of defects and remedial actions in domestic dwellings; and the ability to estimate costs of repair and maintenance works with demonstrable project and contractor management experience.
You will understand health and safety legislation requirements of a social housing landlord, including CDM Regulations, construction site requirements, Fire Regulations and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), and bring any shortfalls observed to the attention of the people concerned.
You will need a full driving licence and a satisfactory DBS check.
