Job summary

Odin Recruitment Group has partnered with a heavy industrial manufacturing company to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor for a 24/7 site in the United Kingdom. The role leads a small engineering team and is hands-on with electrical fault finding, planned maintenance and breakdown response.

You will ensure plant reliability, manage two Engineers and one Apprentice, and work closely with production to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or lead engineer in heavy industrial environments.
• Hands-on electrical fault finding, maintenance planning and breakdown response are essential.
• Experience leading a small engineering team and coordinating with production.
• Able to read electrical schematics and understand three-phase electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of four Maintenance Engineers and one Apprentice Engineer.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, coaching and development to the engineering team.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Lead electrical fault finding across a range of industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Work with three-phase electrical systems, sensors, contactors, motors, drives and control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support maintenance planning, prioritisation and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Maintenance Supervisor

£50,000 to £52,000 Basic Salary + OT

Monday to Friday – Permanent Days

08:30 – 16:30

Early Finish on Fridays

No Weekend Working – 1 in 3 Weekend On-Call- but realistic 1 in 6 called out

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Supervisor to join a well-established heavy industrial manufacturing business specialising in metal treatment and the production of specialist building and construction products.

The site operates 24/7, 365 days a year, supplying products to a range of sectors including automotive, engineering, construction and wider industrial manufacturing.

As Maintenance Supervisor you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability and performance of plant and machinery across the site. You will lead a small engineering team consisting of two Maintenance Engineers and one Apprentice Engineer, providing day-to-day technical leadership, support and guidance while remaining hands-on with electrical fault finding, planned maintenance and breakdown response.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to progress into a leadership role, while remaining technically hands-on.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 16:30
• Friday: Early finish
• No normal weekend working
• 1 in 3 weekend on-call rota
• Weekend on-call is compensated separately
• Permanent days-based position

The role offers a strong work-life balance, with a consistent Monday-to-Friday working pattern and only one weekend on-call requirement every four weeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the 1-in-4 weekend on-call rota, providing remote/telephone support and attending site where required
