Job summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will join a growing manufacturing business on a permanent night shift, leading the engineering team and coordinating maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime. You will manage PPM, CMMS, parts stock and KPIs, while supporting health, safety and GMP requirements.

Working 4 x 10-hour nights Sunday to Friday with rota flexibility, you will deputise for the Head of Engineering, oversee contractor activity, and drive continuous improvement projects across the site.

Qualifications

• Maintenance supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering systems.
• Experience developing and managing PPM schedules.
• Experience managing engineering projects.
• Experience with RAMS and Permit to Work systems.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety in an engineering environment.
• Comfortable working a permanent night shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Shift Engineers and Shift Setters.
• Coordinate planned preventative maintenance schedules and ensure they remain up to date.
• Support the effective use and ongoing development of the site's CMMS.
• Ensure maintenance activities are planned effectively around equipment availability and production downtime.
• Monitor engineering KPIs, outstanding works and PPM performance.
• Support daily engineering handovers and communicate key issues and actions.
• Manage engineering parts stock, ordering, deliveries and regular stock takes.
• Support the purchasing of parts and services in line with budgets.
• Oversee contractor activity and ensure site procedures are followed.
• Support engineering projects from design through to completion.
• Support the management of Permit to Work systems and RAMS.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with Health & Safety, Quality and GMP.

W Talent are exclusively representing a growing manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a permanent night shift Maintenance Supervisor to join their Engineering team.

This is a site-based role working 4 x 10-hour night shifts per week, operating across Sunday to Friday, with the flexibility to choose your preferred rota.

The Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with the Head of Engineering and wider Engineering team, supporting the day-to-day engineering function and taking responsibility for maintenance systems, planned preventative maintenance, reliability, parts management and engineering performance.

Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor will play a key role in coordinating the site's engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring planned maintenance and reliability systems are effectively managed to maximise machinery uptime and support site targets.

The role will combine engineering supervision, maintenance coordination and hands-on technical support, with responsibility for PPM schedules, CMMS, parts management, engineering KPIs and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will also support the Head of Engineering with day-to-day engineering activities and deputise where required.
