Job summary

Leicester Marriott is seeking a maintenance engineer to carry out repairs and preventative maintenance across the hotel. You will respond to guest requests, coordinate room maintenance, and support energy-saving initiatives while liaising with multiple departments.

The role requires practical maintenance experience; plumbing or electrical qualifications are advantageous. You will work 40 hours over 5 days, including weekends, with an on-call rota and benefits as outlined.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or engineering roles within hospitality or similar environments.
• Strong focus on guest satisfaction and timely repairs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel as needed.
• Coordinate rooms preventative maintenance and respond to guest repair requests.
• Maintain tools and mechanical equipment; ensure energy efficiency initiatives.
• Communicate with departments and report new engineering works to the Engineering Manager.
• Assist with inventory organization and ordering; participate in on-call rota.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and maintain physical hotel appearance.

What You’ll Do

• You will be responsible for carrying out any repair or rectifying any maintenance issues throughout the hotel as and when they arise
• Coordinate rooms preventative maintenance
• Monitor the rooms preventative maintenance system, transcendent
• You will respond to and attend to guest repair requests
• You will perform preventative maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical equipment
• You will be an excellent communicator and build excellent relationships with departments across the hotel
• Report on any new or developing engineering works that need to be addressed to the Engineering Manager
• Act as a number 2 in the department being second in command
• Assist with maintaining the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing etc
• Assist with energy saving and green initiatives within the hotel
• Assist with inventory organisation and ordering
