Job summary

Sodexo Group in Prestwick is seeking a Maintenance Assist to support building services across a corporate site. The role combines hands-on maintenance with technical guidance to the team, ensuring reliable operation of plant and equipment.

You'll coordinate maintenance tasks, help maintain safety standards and energy efficiency, and contribute to continuous process improvements while working within a supportive, career‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Ideally, a minimum of 5 years' experience within building services and plant engineering.
• Strong practical, hands-on maintenance and engineering experience.
• Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance within a commercial or industrial environment.
• Technical knowledge across LV, mechanical services, confined spaces, boiler and pressure systems and Legionella.
• Good Health & Safety legislation understanding and safe working practices.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and providing guidance to colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe operation, maintenance and repair of building services, plant and fabric equipment across the site.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance with ~50% hands-on work.
• Provide technical support to the maintenance team and resolve faults.
• Coordinate directly employed labour and subcontractors for PPM activities.
• Help achieve 100% compliance across all statutory PPM activities.
• Support reactive maintenance during and outside normal hours as required.
• Ensure maintenance documentation is completed accurately and timely.
