Salary

£31,600 - £49,800 (dependent on experience and qualifications).

Contract type

This position is a permanent contract.

Location

This role is based across our Magna Park and Fenny Lock National Distribution Centres.

Working hours

This role is for 37.5 hours per week. The working hours are 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday.

Please note, internally this role is known as 'Engineering Trade Specialist'.

Key responsibilities
  1. Internal delivery of specialised maintenance, change, and project work, reducing/eliminating external contractor dependence in a 24-hour environment where SLA is often business-critical.
  2. Demonstrating an understanding of branch plant and equipment and assisting in maintaining its operation.
  3. Achieving first-fix on building fabric, fixtures, and equipment, supporting the Engineering Technician team, demonstrating the following skillsets:
    1. Articulate in design and planning, specification setting, and project delivery in a CDM-governed environment.
    2. Action change-work in the branch to meet operational demands - ensuring time schedules are met.
    3. Understand and use the IT Systems to action and facilitate work.
    4. Maintain effective communication links with Engineering Shift Managers and project coordinators.
    5. Resolve operational issues promptly, courteously, and effectively.
  4. Contribute to a safe working environment demonstrating subject knowledge relating to legislative and health and safety requirements within the workplace.
  5. Consistently carry out safe practices in line with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
  • Strong vocational background with proven construction / engineering experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety legislation in a commercial and industrial environment.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
  • Apprenticeship-served (CITB, CGLI or equivalent).
  • CSCS accreditation.
  • IPAF & PASMA, Working at Height trained.
  • First-Aid qualified.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH.
