Job summary

CHEP Pontefract is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering function in our automated service centre. You’ll drive a proactive TPM-based maintenance culture, oversee PLC-driven systems, and guide a twelve-strong maintenance team to deliver reliable equipment performance while meeting safety, regulatory, and budget targets. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and effective project execution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading maintenance/engineering teams in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong background in electrical discipline and automation.
• Experience implementing TPM/reliability-based maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategy.
• Lead and develop a twelve-person maintenance team with coaching and performance management.
• Embed and mature the Engineering TPM Maintenance Strategy across the site.
• Manage breakdowns and planned maintenance, deploying resources effectively.
• Own maintenance budgets and control maintenance material spend.
• Ensure regulatory health & safety compliance and CMMS data integrity.
