Job summary

CHEP is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering function at Pontefract Service Centre. You will ensure plant equipment and services are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with operational standards.

You will embed the TPM maintenance strategy and drive a reliability-focused culture in an automated environment, supporting PLC-driven systems and data-driven asset performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Completed Level 3 recognised engineering apprenticeship (mechanical and/or electrical).
• HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent engineering qualification (preferred).
• Desirable: NEBOSH, 18th Edition, PLC experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of twelve Maintenance Technicians.
• Embed and continuously improve the Engineering TPM Maintenance Strategy.
• Manage breakdowns and planned maintenance activities with internal/external resources.
• Develop and deliver a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategy.
• Drive equipment reliability through standard procedures and monitoring.
• Manage engineering data systems and ensure CMMS compliance.
• Support engineering and capex projects including installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Own maintenance budgets and control maintenance material spend.
• Manage contractors on site in line with safety rules.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure HSE standards are met.
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
