Job summary

Cabot Corporation in Barry, UK, seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians ensuring safe, reliable operation of plant equipment. You will drive maintenance excellence, plan resources, and collaborate across Operations, Engineering, and SHE to optimise asset performance.

Responsibilities include guiding RCAs, FMEA, and RCM, overseeing contractor performance, and maintaining safety-driven maintenance standards.

Qualifications

• HNC or above in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• Significant experience in a maintenance and reliability role within a large process industry or manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing preferred.
• LEADERSHIP in safety, people development and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment.
• Plan, prioritise and execute maintenance with Operations and Engineering teams, including unplanned downtime recovery.
• Drive Reliability and OEE improvements via RCA, FMEA, RCM, and preventive/predictive maintenance optimisation.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, SHE and Engineering to select, qualify and manage contractors, ensuring safety, quality and cost-effective performance.
• Maintain maintenance documentation, SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH, LOLOER inspection registers (scaffolding, ladders, MEWP).
