Job summary

HVAC Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Plumber for a busy shopping centre in Portsmouth. The role offers a salary of up to £37,500 and standard hours from Monday to Friday, with a low-volume 1 in 7 call-out rota and opportunities for training and progression.

You will join a team of engineers responsible for planned and reactive plumbing across a premium retail destination, delivering first-class service and maintaining high standards of operation.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (essential)
• Experience in commercial maintenance or building services
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills
• Proactive attitude and team player
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Flexibility to support occasional mechanical tasks

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive plumbing works across a busy retail site
• Repair and replace taps; clear blockages and diagnose leaks
• Carry out general plumbing maintenance and small installations
• Support basic mechanical maintenance when required
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests with high service standards

The Role

As part of the on‑site maintenance team, you’ll carry out a wide range of planned and reactive plumbing works across this busy retail and leisure destination.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Tap repairs and replacements
• Clearing blockages
• Diagnosing and repairing leaks
• General plumbing maintenance
• Small plumbing installations
• Supporting with basic mechanical maintenance when required
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests and ensuring high service standards

No two days are the same, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in a busy environment and managing a varied workload.

About You
